Excellent wait staff, good food.
When I placed my reservation through Open Table, it asked if I had any special notes for the matre di. I asked for a nice table for my wife's birthday. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not very busy, we were seated at a very average table. And no one mentioned my wife's birthday. So either the note did not get passed onto the restaurant or the restaurant ignored the note. Either way, not sure if we'll use opentable again, or whether we'll go back to Bacchus.
My opinions have improved tremendously since the last time I was here. Everything was first class, as one would expect at this top rated (and relatively more expensive) restaurant.
Bacchus is another example of Joe Bartolotta's success as a restaurateur. Before dinner, we had a drink in the bar and the company of a very personable and friendly bartender. If there are awards for personality, he wins hands down! Our dinning experience was perfect (yes, perfect). The music of Sinatra, Bennett and Armstrong was the perfect accompaniment to delicious food and the lovely ambience of the room. Food was excellent; service friendly and professional but a bit slow and occasionally hard to flag down.
Our last visit to this restaurant was somewhat disappointing. This time, however, we had a wonderful experience.
Phenomenal Service and Food all around! I love bringing business partners here for lunch!
Our experience overall was fantastic. We came early to enjoy drinks at the bar before dinner and our bartender was exceptional, great conversation and still enough privacy. Our table was ready on time. We were both wearing dark colors, so napkins were switched out for black ones. Our server was very polite, had excellent recommendations that suited our tastes very well. The service was good and the food was great. The only thing that was disappointing was the young couple next to us who were yelling and fighting. Since the tables are so close, we couldn't hear each other, only this couple fighting. I hoped the staff would of spoke to this couple but that did not happen.
