Why didn’t they just rename it? Food is good. They remodeled and completely changed the menu. Definitely doesn’t deliver on the name “Bacchus” with wine list that’s basically very short list of restaurant only white label. Cocktail list is ABA classics. Bright white garish deco with 90s pop rock blaring is an interesting experience. This would have been fire in 1990s SoHo. It’s basically a throwback to the 90s Applebees Pick 3 menu but fancy and grown up. Fish, ribs, or steak… 😂 My date said “this is a place you bring your ... read more
Wonderful environment! First date! Nice experience. I would definitely return.
My husband had the 5 course meal andour 2 friends and I had the 3 course meal and everything was really good. We especially liked the octypus and scallops. Service was great. We had to leave at a certain time and were don by then. Nice and quiet in there. Clean . Server was vbery good.
At first we were surprised it was not busy at all for a Friday night. We were seated in the larger dining room. It was bright and white, with contemporary music. The menu options are a 3 course or 5 course set menu, small portions. The first 3 courses arrived timely. Service was good. 4th course took over 30 minutes, the lull, without drinks was noticeable, server brought champagne and apologized for hiccup in kitchen. Again, good service. Food was good, but not memorable.
Absolutely everything about this experience was fantastic. The service was top-drawer, and the food was absolutely incredible -- some of the best we have ever had. We plan on going back very soon!
A few miscues are almost expected at most restaurants, however, when they happen at Bacchus and it costs $300+ for two people, it requires commentary. My first course, a beet salad with limp arugula, arrived only seconds after the amuse bouche and with no utensils to eat it with. The second course, beef short ribs, were a bit dry, and the vegetables were overcooked. The dessert, a chocolate pot de creme' was just o.k. and the portion size was lacking. My dinner guest's meal was better than mine. A fabulous Thai meatball dish... read more
I went for my birthday and the entire experience was amazing.
The meal was tasty, the service as attentive to meal needs, and the experience was professionally satisfactory.
The place was empty and on a Friday night. I thought the portion sizes were lacking. I ordered scallops and got 3. The remaining were potatoes that were supposed to look like additional scallops. The service was outstanding. Overall value could have been better.
