We went there for lunch today. We were welcomed and seated immediately. Our waiter was right there with menus and took and filled our drink order promptly. Our food was brought in a very reasonable time and it was hot and delicious. I had the hot fudge cake for dessert, and it was great. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend them.

Really enjoy the atmosphere this restaurant provided. Very clean, well lit and friendly. Large parking lot out front and you are welcomed with a smile when you arrive. I was seated promptly and was welcomed by Damien. I ordered a THICK chocolate shake and he made it PERFECT! He was knowledgeable about the menu and easy to work with when I changed my order twice. Fast, friendly and prompt service. Very family friendly atmosphere. Went in today for a chocolate milkshake and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the set up was exactly the same as when I was in high school 20 years ago. The buffet, restaurant tables, the decor. It was a welcoming treat. It was almost $5 for one milkshake. Definitely a much higher price than in 1980. The shake was more milk than ice cream, thin not thick but hit the spot.

Service was great and the food was good. 3 stars is for the fact the tables and booths were not very clean. Sign said to seat ourselves, but a lot of the tables had not been wiped off. My wife went the restroom and came back saying it was atrocious. They did have enough staff working to make sure it was clean. It was not busy. Maybe 5 tables with patrons. Now onto the food review. Arrived into Grand Rapids around Noon and was looking for a place to eat. Hadn't been to a Big Boy in years. Wasn't exactly as I remembered it but we're also in the middle of this virus. Wife got a patty melt and she said it was good. I got a bowl of Tortilla Soup and it wasn't like any Tortilla soup I've ever had before. It was good and just different. Our server was attentive and friendly.

The food and service were great, it was a quick decision lunch. The salad bar for one trip was $3.99.

The food was good this morning. Special? It's Big Boy, not a Five-Star eatery. It was tasty and plentiful. My waiter, Dominick, now he was special. Great service.

I normally never leave reviews (good experience or bad), but I have never been this impressed with the service I received here and I created this account in hopes somebody will use this and make the decision to bring their family to this restaurant! We haven't been to a Big Boy restaurant in 10 years. We met another couple there for brunch. This was a real treat. They have a great Salad Bar. Lots of fresh crispy greens and so many choice toppings. 5 choices of soups were included too. For a few dollars there was burgers, dogs and tacos too. The servers were so friendly and welcoming. The bad part were their booth seat cushions were very uncomfortable. They really need new cushions, now!
