Dr Richards is awesome. He is so knowledgeable and intelligent. Because of his training and speciality in hands and upper extremities, I would feel completely comfortable sending any of my family to him for their care. He knows the ins and outs of the hand and upper extremities and spends time with his patients. He answered all of my questions before and after surgery. I cannot say enough good about him and his staff. They really take great care of their patients! Thank you!
Dr. Richards performed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my wife's wrists and the results have been great. She feels so much better and is glad to have had the surgeries done by someone who really did a great job. Dr. Richards isn't the friendliest physician, but he isn't rude or mean at all. I think he just has a reserved personality, but that is easily forgiven by the great results he produces.
Dr. Richards was arrogant, dismissive, and constantly interrupted me when I tried to explain my pain to him. I was in intense pain when I saw him and was hesitant about him doing much pushing and prodding on my hand just because it hurt so badly, I cooperated the best I could. Then I see online in my notes that he said I was guarded, distrustful and standoffish. Not very professional!!
I have had three surgeries with Dr. Richards. Two of them successful. The third one was an unnecessary surgery. It did not work and I was on a conveyor belt of surgeries that day.. He does not care about his patience. He only cares about his trips out of the country now. He was not there for any of my follow up appointments. The surgery was unsuccessful and when I talked to the administration about it. They blamed me. for not listening. Even though I spent most of my time with his nurses. That didn't even know how to take st... read more
Went in to Dr Richards to have a ganglion cyst removed. After 10 weeks can not feel fingers or use hsnd. No follow up from doctor or staff. Doctor says he cares about patients but passed off to other doctors who are left to fix what he screws up. Under no circumstances should anyone go to him or Ogden clinic.
He suggested that my hand weakness was because I was "old" (29 years old). Lisa, his scheduler, would never call me back to make an appointment for surgery and would tell staff in the office to lie and say she wasn't there. I could not get her to call me back or to answer the phone for a very long time. I had to physically go into the office and call on my cell phone and then call the staff's bluff when they said she was gone. I walked up to the desk and told them I could see her standing there. That was the only was I got m... read more
He does not have good beside manner at all. We where referred to him for a broken arm and one of his office aides burnt my sons arm with the saw- by watching her she clearly didn’t know what she was doing. He was so insensitive about it and acted like I was so off base to suggest additional training so no harm comes when they remove casts in the office. From other reviews it doesn’t seem that he treats the person- just the disorder. I always stear clear of doctors like.
Unless your problem is texbook, you will be disappointed. I've been dealing with a UCL tear for 7 months! Every time I go in, I rarely even see Dr. Richards. Always his PA. The only reason i know it's a UCL tear is because I requested a copy of my imaging studies! This Dr. basically shrugged hus shoulders at my case and said "I dunno"? Seeking a second opinion, not in this practice!
I was incredibly disappointed. He spoke to me with a chip on his shoulder from our first appointment. He performed surgery on my hand and when it was finished he walked out and I haven't heard a word since. He didn't check in with my family who was waiting to see how I was and he wasn't at my post op appointment. He told me the recovery would be about 10 days. It has been over 5 weeks and I still don't have normal function back.
