We wanted to go eat somewhere quintessentially New York since it was our last day there. It was also Christmas and we wanted to have a good meal and Brooklyn Diner was not only open on Christmas, it was taking reservations! I had the hot pastrami which was pretty good, though not as memorable as some of the other places in New York that serve nice pastrami. Daughter had the chicken parm which was huge!! Hubby had the chicken pot pie which was equally huge and impressive.
Went to the Diner based on recommendations and couldn't be happier that we did. It was a busy night but we were seated on time for our reservation. Our server was kind and patient as we had a look through the menu. He came back after a couple of minutes as we had asked and wasn't pushy at all! Food came out quickly and was delicious! My wife and I had burgers which were exceptional! The strawberry cheesecake was a great shared desert too! Would highly recommend for a pre/post Broadway venue!
Great waiter, Sara
I have eaten at both locations and this is the best for Ambiance. The food is great and if you like pot pie, this is the best by far!
The Brooklyn Diner was very disappointing for breakfast. I understand that NYC is expensive, but I expect a much more quality breakfast for the prices charged. We had pancakes, eggs, raisin & pecan French toast and an omelette. Everything was mediocre. Our bill for six people was over $150!!
Great food be sure you make reservations this place fills up quickly.
Get the polenta with tomato dipping sauce - best thing on their breakfast menu!
Our cozy table was ready when we arrived. We shared a huge bowl of yummy matzoh ball soup. The everyday Thanksgiving plate was delicious. My daughter’s burger was huge and very good. We’ve been there before and will return.
We ate at the Times Square restaurant and it was mobbed. We had an Open Table reservation and we were seated at the time we asked for. Don’t try to get a table unless you have a reservation. There is always a line to get it. This is an expensive Diner......very expensive, but the food was great.
