Mom was right: breakfast is always the best meal of the day. Yum yum.
Great place in the theater district especially if you don't want a big meal. The portions are huge. You easily can make a meal by ordering 2 appetizers.
Good place to eat before a broadway play. Above average diner food. Enormous portions. A bit pricey for a diner - but not when you consider you are right in Times Square and everything is a bit pricey.
Try the Mac-n-chees even as a side. Yummy!
Unexpectedly great service by hosts / wait / bus staff, expensive for budget minded folks, and there was a no kid menu. Right in the heart of Times Sq. so, its a good way to take a break and then continue the NYC experience overload. Again the staff was super friendly and made the stop worth it.
Great comfort food. I had the chicken soup--excellent. I also tried the side order of mac and cheese, without the ham, it was cheesy, gooey and delectable. I will definitely return here next time I'm in New York City. Service was perfect. Only downside is the tables are a little too close for my liking.
Out of all the Times Square restaurants I have been to, this one is by far my favorite. It is a clean restaurant with quality homestyle food choices. Yes, it is a little pricey because it is in Times Square, but that is to be expected. The portion size definitely makes up for the price. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to any NYC visitor (or native) who is looking to have the NY experience without having to wait 2 hours for the table (b/c you can make reservations!). It is the perfect place to go before a Broadway ... read more
We love this place despite the crowds, the noise; it's a happening and the huge portions are delicious. It's name is mis-leading. This is not your grandma's diner.
My husband and I had matinee tickets to "Anything Goes" at the Stephen Sondheim Theater, so it was an easy choice to make lunch reservations at The Brooklyn Diner. The menu has something for everyone. My dietary choices have changed since I first ate at the Brooklyn. I now eat only plant-based foods, and there is a satisfying option for me. The wait staff is always excellent. Just know that seating is often snug, and the noise level reflects many chatty patrons.
Brooklyn Diner has a 4.2 star rating with 8,718 reviews.
