I think that Cardinal Hill is an awful place for people to go for any kind of care. I have been there for pool therapy, physical therapy and for physician visits, and all of it was mediocre at best. The place smells like mildew and there is absolutely no reason for that I don't care what anyone says about it. The nurses and physical therapists are rude and/or passive aggressive and they lie about what patients tell them in the patient's medical file/chart. The students and therapists were fine, but the nursing and nurses aides were awful. Poor attitude, poor care, constantly making excuses for delayed response time, understaffed on weekends. I would not go back!

Cardinal Hill had some amazing staff. The therapists are phenomenal and go above and beyond. Most nursing staff are the same. However, there is a physician that ruins the great reputation of the facility. Dr Chris Covington does not have the integrity and care of the patients that is expected. He does not communicate with patients or family. He does not coordinate care or offer explanations for care. He falsely documents care out of pure laziness and lack of professionalism. This one a top notch rehabilitation hospital back in the 90's and most early 2000's and I was a trauma patient in the head injury unit in the early part of 1993. This facility was highly rated and rewarded and the Easter Seals where involved in the operation of it.In 2015 Health South became involved in the operations and that's when it started its downward spiral.Do your research before deciding on this Hospital because you will see that the complaints are ever growing and the staff & facilities.I was injured by one of the ... read more

I am still having nightmares about my two weeks experience in this facility. They have signs everywhere saying Call Don't Fall. And on admission it is stressed to call. Well it has been almost a year since I was there and I am still waiting for someone to answer my first call. They somehow dug up a very old diet restriction that was no longer in place. Even the hospital no longer had it. I had to fight to get real food. The delayed my pain meds which were just OTC Tylenol. I was supposed to get those every 4 hours. I would w... read more
