I haven't been to the dentist in decades because of dentophobia (yes, that's a real thing) but my mouth has been okay thanks to good dental hygiene. With that said, recently one of my teeth that had gotten a filling as a teenager cracked--I'm told that's not uncommon. There was no pain but I was in fear that the whole tooth would fall out of my head or, at the very least, that silver filling would detach and wind up in my belly. No waiting around. All areas are spotlessly clean. First time appointment and I was extremely nervous because of having a traumatic experience at prior dentist.
