My last trip to this cracker barrel. I noticed something odd looking about my strawberry cheesecake french toast when I picked up my to go order. When I pointed out the dryness and missing components, he nervously fixed the missing strawberry syrup and made excuses about the other. He said, "I had to flip it over into the tray, underneath there is a bunch of the cheesecake smeared." I should have opened it up right there, but I didn't follow my gut. FOOD: Food here can be very delicious or very bad depending on what you order (just like any other restraunt). I highly recommend their chicken, whether fried or grilled. I've never had such juicy chicken before, and I was pleasantly surprised. Their pancakes are also delicious and taste almost like cake! We love that CB has continued to offer good food for a reasonable price... that, along with your comfortable family-friendly atmosphere, no TVs and loud media, easy to visit and hear well.... these are reasons we come back. Cute gift shop. I'm sad to say.... my food has been less flavorful and the portions have been reduced. Just so you know, I am a big fan of Cracker Barrel. We've made them a priority whenever we are on a road trip or away on business. My son and I were on our way to Dallas from Chicago and stopped nearby for the night. Admittedly, it was rather late when we went to dinner, but my food was a little less than what I've come to expect from Cracker Barrel. We went to lunch and I ordered the grilled chicken salad which cost over $10. The menu said that it came with tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, hard boiled egg, croutons and crackers. After receiving it, I noticed it had 3 cherry tomatoes, 3 small slices of cucumber, no egg, cheese and a lot of croutons. The lettuce was head lettuce and must have come from the center of the head.
