Had brunch here today and as always the experience was nice. Hubs had the fried chicken and eggs and I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The star of the show was definitely his fried chicken. I could have closed my eyes, taste that chicken and would have thought I was at a soul food restaurant. A must try! Also, I did not know CB served beer and wine. I enjoyed the peach mimosa during my meal and it was lovely. Service was spectacular as always, and we look forward to coming back soon!
This location is tough to exceed if you're looking for great value. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. I usually order the Oldtimer’s Breakfast, which I love. The service here is above average for Southern Maryland, and the servers (distinguished by the stars on their aprons) are friendly and attentive. Went to a late lunch on Friday. The server Beth was great. She refilled our drinks and took our order promptly. I had the grilled chicken tenders and my husband had the creole shrimp skillet. Both were delicious. I have always had great service at this location, and the retail area has a lot of new items for spring.
I recently had a disappointing experience at Cracker Barrel that left me frustrated. I called ahead to order food for pick-up, and when I arrived early at 6:50, I was pleased to find my order ready. However, the excitement quickly faded when the staff informed me they were out of gravy and sausages—without even asking if I wanted a substitute. Atmosphere and cleanliness was good. I'm a regular customer but this last time there were some glaring issues. Food arrived cool and needed to be sent back. The preparers seemed to ignore specific request to keep condiments and sauce on the side. It tasted great once issues were corrected.
