I ordered Cracker Barrel take out today. I got their country fried steak, eggs, and the loaded hash brown casserole. The eggs were entirely flavorless, the hash brown was so heavily coated in salt that I’m going to need to make an appointment with my cardiologist. The country fried steak, if we can even call it that, was absolutely putrid. The plastic bag my food came in might have been closer to meat than the country fried “steak”. I haven’t been to that location in a while so I decided to try it. The service from the hostess and waitress was great, but the food was not good. Everything was undone. The eggs were runny, the meat wasn’t cooked all the way inside and the grits weren’t cooked all the way. Everything tasted really bland also.
I had the chicken, french toast, with a side of loaded hash browns. Meal was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Establishment was very clean and comfortable. Our server Micheal was very attentive and seemed to really enjoy his job.
As many times I have purchased my food from Cracker Barrel today was the 1st time I experienced bad service with the food and one of the Managers. My French toast look like they rushed to cook it no powder sugar, they didn’t even cut them. The $3.99 fruit was a very small portion. The cheese bites were cold. Upon entering the store/ restaurant and waited 30 min. We was pleased with the greeting & staff after we were seated. We ordered and waitress was pleasant. Food arrival to the table was about 20 minuets, hot and good. The waitress noticed my plate was half full, she asked if I want a to go plate, I answered YES. I thanked her for the suggestion. I always order breakfast when I go to cracker barrel. We enjoyed our visit.
