We visited at 6:30 PM two days before Christmas. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated immediately and had the most fun, helpful, friendly server named Pam. We had meatloaf and chicken and dumplings and country fried steak and biscuits and everything was delicious. We probably weren't prepared for the long wait as the kitchen was really slow. Our server was amazing. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. My wife got the veggie plate and she even made sure everything was in its own bowl. I got the Friday Fish Fry and it was delicious as usual. Overall a really good dinning experience for lunch.
Our food was terrible. My hamburger steak was dry and hard. Turnip greens tasted old. My granddaughter ordered the new chicken finger meal. They were dry and overcooked, too. The broccoli cheese chicken was barely warm. My husband had breakfast and it was good. We love Cracker Barrel but very disappointed with this visit.
When visiting the Cracker Barrel, you always expect consistent service and menu choices. However, on this day, it was a parent from the beginning that our waitress was struggling. She was kind and polite, and continued to apologize, but as we sat there, waiting for our food, we noticed that other people that came in after us were already eating, it took a good 30 to 40 minutes for food to arrive. Let me start by saying Sarah (the sweet girl working to-gos by herself on a Sunday) and the two people working the registers (young guy and young girl) were doing all they could to help each other and deal with the kitchen being behind on a busy Sunday.
