We visited at 6:30 PM two days before Christmas. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated immediately and had the most fun, helpful, friendly server named Pam. We had meatloaf and chicken and dumplings and country fried steak and biscuits and everything was delicious. We probably weren't prepared for the long wait as the kitchen was really slow. Our food was terrible. My hamburger steak was dry and hard. Turnip greens tasted old. My granddaughter ordered the new chicken finger meal. They were dry and overcooked, too. The broccoli cheese chicken was barely warm. My husband had breakfast and it was good. We love Cracker Barrel but very disappointed with this visit.
As a previous waitress, I try to have a lot of grace for when nights are busy, when you get multiple tables at once, when the kitchen is backed up, etc. but our experience at this Cracker Barrel was horrible. My party of 3 was seated rather quickly, but then had multiple servers walk past us for 15 minutes without getting our drink order. We brought a large group in on a Sunday night and called over 24 hours in advance with the exact number and arrival time to make sure they had the capacity. We were told “that size was nothing” and they’d be ready to go when we arrived. We called a second time about 2 hours before we arrived to confirm we were still good to show up and the lady on the phone didn’t have any idea what we were talking about. The Cracker Barrel at the Collinade was by far the best Cracker Barrel I have been to in a while. The server there, Ms. Pam, went above and beyond for us. She served us our food, made sure our needs were met and even had a lovely conversation with us. She was so personable and kind and really showed that she cared. I haven’t had a server quite like here in a bit. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. The food was cooked well too and our order arrived quickly. I will definitely be going back
