The White Plains DHC on Tarrytown has it all -- a big, pleasant, bright eating area, a very nice crew, hands-on and neatnick manager -- and the chicken is delicious. Yes Nashville-style hot chicken is an acquired test, but DHC goes all the way, with brining, using quality cayenne (I make hot chicken myself so I know, and it's acutally a lot of work, but worth it!!!), and other good ingredients. Stopped by Dave's Hot Chicken in Sherman Oaks and overall, it definitely hit the spot! The chicken was juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. I went with the medium spice level--good heat, but I did find it a bit on the salty side. Not a deal breaker, just something to note if you're sensitive to salt. Good mac n cheese! The sides were solid (fries were crispy and well-seasoned), and the pickles added a nice crunch.
