TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Just not too great. The girl working the front was probably the best part as she took her time to make sure everything was correct. First issue was the soda machine had zero carbonation for all options. Second, the fries weren’t too great, a tad room temperature. Third, the skin on the chicken really didn’t stick as much as one would expect. The heat level was okay and the flavor was just fine. Also, nowhere to sit inside. Just too expensive for such mid fare.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is so good! It’s really consistent and always perfectly fried and juicy. I come here every so often with my godson and we always have a good time. I do purposefully try to come at odd times though because it can get quite busy. That said, they’ve improved their wait times I’ve noticed. When you first arrived, the atmosphere is amazing, music is playing, the street art compliments the building, and there are dining options both inside and outside. The food however, absolutely phenomenal. I personally chose a mild slider, with the kale slaw and a strawberry Oreo milkshake. It is one of the best places I've had in quite a while, and I highly recommend it to everyone. And I'll be returning very soon.
Happy to have a Dave’s Hot Chicken closer to home! Everything tasted great and the service was great as well. Cashier was really helpful. The wait time was normal I would say, no more than 10 minutes. So may just be something they’re working through regarding the other reviews.
The first thing I noticed when I came in was the vibe. And the positive energy the Dave's Hot Chicken crew gave. The food is Halal, and the chicken is cooked perfectly. Nice, juicy, and tender. Very addicting texture and taste. My food came out fast and the crew members were very helpful. This is my new spot to have lunch
