Ordered online to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken out. Now, I like to think I'm a guy who can handle my spice. Mama didn't raise no coward. So I ordered a Daves #2, with Hot sliders. I even ordered a small thing of macaroni and cheese just to see what that was like. The fries were ok. They are your standard chicken-place fries with some seasoning on it, arguably the best part of the meal. The Mac n Cheese was the worst mac n cheese I had ever tasted. I went to Dave's Hot Chicken expecting "hot," but what I got was regret served in a paper tray. The moment I opened the box, I was greeted by a greasy red puddle that looked like it had just lost a fight with a deep fryer. The chicken was somehow both soggy and dry -- a culinary paradox that should honestly be studied by scientists. The flavor? Listen, I ordered a "Dave's #1" in-store at 4:33PM and didn't get my food until 4:58PM. There were 2 people in front of me who were already sitting with their beepers and waiting. Sadly, They got their orders the same time as me. During this 25 minute period, they were pushing out orders to 6-7 different people who must have ordered online because they came in, gave a name and boom their order was in-hand instantly. Overpriced chicken. Although the tenders are larger I still believe it's a little overpriced and it was very bland. The lady at the counter couldn't care less either. I'd choose the Zaxbys that is next to this place if you're looking for chicken.

I rarely leave reviews, good or bad, but my experience at Dave's Hot Chicken today was so disappointing that I had to speak up. At 1pm on 7/26/25, we stopped for lunch. It was our first (and definitely last) visit. I ordered (3) two-piece tender meals. One with no spice for my daughter, another mild for my son, and a hot spice for myself. When we sat down, my chicken (hot) looked the same dark red as my son's mild but it was our first time and we just started eating. I'm not someone who usually leaves negative reviews, but I feel like this one needs to be said. We went to Dave's Hot Chicken and spent $69 for four people. The food just didn't live up to the price. The chicken was dry, bland, and the seasoning tasted like straight-up cayenne pepper and no depth of flavor at all. Beyond the food, the experience inside the restaurant was honestly frustrating. I ordered food worth $80 dollars, 6 meals and all of the meals I ordered were suppose to have a side of mac and cheese, instead they all came with fries. I also ordered mild spice level and it came out super seasoned and definitely not mild more on the hot/extra hot spice level. This was for all the meals ordered, we all got the same spice level yet received hotter wings and no mac and cheese.

The guys at the registers were super nice and helpful, but the food wasn't edible. We got tenders and sliders. The chicken was coated in a powdery spice rub. Not only was it a weird texture because it was so powdery, but it also smelled weird. The actual meat was nice and tender, but we couldn't eat it because of the coating.
