Where to begin? I guess its a love hate relationship. I'll start with the negative first. When you go the wait for the food seems to take forever. We have been there several times and it is always a long wait, even if there's a small amount of people in the restaurant. On one evening we asked if they could put some of the mild chicken spice over the cheese fries. A brunette female from the kitchen area snarkily called out, "We don't do that here". "Dave's Hot Chicken" isn't your run of the mill, commercial, chicken spot. It is ten steps ahead. But give me a second to explain. Pulling into the parking lot, you see the unique façade of the building. It screams fun! Inside mirrors the outside. It has a modern youthful feel. At the counter, that staff shares that energy. They took our order and said it is made fresh. I know that's code for you will have to wait a bit. But trust me, it's worth it. Dave's Hot Chicken delivers on flavor if you like your chicken spicy, and the tenders are generally crispy and well-cooked. The sauces are tasty and add a nice kick, and the fries are solid. That said, portion sizes can be small for the price, and the restaurant can get very crowded, leading to slower service. It's a good spot for a quick spicy chicken fix, but nothing about the experience really stands out beyond the heat.

Within 10 minutes of this place there are several CFA's, Bo Jangles, Canes, and a Slim Chickens. So even tho I wanted to try this place out, I was in no hurry. Plus every night I drove by at 7pm or after it was always packed, so I thought I'd wait awhile to go in. Finally had lunch yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. Once we ordered it took about 15ish minutes to get our food, which I guess was fine. I got the sliders and fries and mac n cheese.
