Everything about Dave's is meh. It is definitely overhyped and I've had better meals at Cane's for half the price. Food is bland. The only thing that is saving it is the dipping sauce. I didn't have the best experience with the staff. After waiting for an hour, I asked for an update and I was told to sit down and wait. (Not very appreciated). The inside is nice but I don't recommend.

The disappointment! I have been waiting months maybe even years to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken. Finally we get one here in Baton Rouge. I waited until the hype dropped a bit but decided to visit on Labor Day. The restaurants decor and art on the inside is awesome they did a great job. I arrived at the restaurant and they were pretty packed. There weren't clear instructions on where the line started so I ended up waiting in the pick up line for a bit unfortunately. This was honestly one of the worst food experiences I've had in Baton Rouge. The chicken was flat-out bad -- greasy, flavorless, and definitely not worth the hype. It took forever to even get my order, and when it finally came out, it was cold. The staff didn't make it any better. Service was good & so was the atmosphere. I got the #3 which was a slider and 1 singular tender, fries, coleslaw & drink which was $18.79. That's dine out prices and for the portion size that's insane. Tender on bun, tender by itself, 1/4 cup of fries, and a sauce container of coleslaw. Absolutely insane price to pay. Thursday the 21st night shift lazy workers. Not helpful and zero urgency. Ruined my experience for waiting 45 for simple fried chicken. The heavy set white workers (probably female) with short hair was also high on marjuana

The food was mid, the service took an hour for it to be mid, not going here again. probably 50 people more than the recommended amount, the chocolate shake was straight fudge
