About this business

About Dogwood Canyon Nature Park "Promote and protect the natural environment of the canyon’s wildlife and plant life." Aside from a few amenities to make Dogwood Canyon Nature Park more accessible to our guests, the rugged landscape has been left untouched and, with just a little imagination, you can travel back to a time when European settlers first entered the area or, even further, to explore the mark that Native Americans left on these Missouri hills and hollows. The first parcels of the property were acquired in 199... read more

The park is beautiful. We took the tram tour and our tour guide, James, was excellent. You could tell he loved the area, loved his job and loved sharing his wealth of information with everyone. We saw 5 bald eagles, bison, deer, elk, longhorn cattle and lots of huge trout. The scenery was so pretty, lots of waterfalls and grounds were immaculate. You can walk the path, bike or ride horses but you will not see the big animals unless you go on the tram. The fees were very confusing. We almost left when we thought the tram and ... read more

We just visited Dogwood Canyon and while we were impressed with the scenic beauty. We were shocked to see the prices were so high for a Non- Profit location. A man paid a largd sum of money so that his 3 young children could fish for one hour. Why not promote the sport and give children under 10 fish for free? Maybe it was the time of the year, but there weren't many staff members around and those who were didnt seem to want to engage with visitors?

Business response:

Hello Chris, thank you for your feedback. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a private not-for-profit foundation committed to connecting people of all ages to nature. Rachel was a welcoming host as we enjoyed our tram tour immensely. She took time meeting everyone’s needs and went above and beyond. The 6-8 bald eagles we closely saw, the beautiful creek with its waterfalls, and the elk and Buffalo roaming the fields with their young all made for a highly memorable trip. We had people ranging from 5-90 in our group and fun was had by all. Highly recommended
