My first PS, ever! I am excited about making this big change, but nervous about communicating my expectations well to him since I know communication is key in a successful rhinoplasty. I am seeking the typical asian nose job with alar/tip/bridge changes. I am getting less busy and hope to speak with him more soon :)

I have wanted to have rhinoplasty for some time now, since my nose has always bothered me. Of course, like a lot of people here, my family has tried to convince me that I "don't need it", but I beg to differ. I searched plastic surgeons over the years while I was still thinking through it, and Dr. Shah always stuck out to me because he focuses on the face rather than the whole body and his results looked more natural than other before/afters I had seen. I did a whole lot of digging through this site to find a collection of r... read more

I had a disastrous primary. My nose had a scooped out bridge, was overly shortened and deprojected, the tip was upturned and the nostrils on show. I had 2 subsequent revision with Ronald Gruber in Oakland but it still wasn't right. Dr Shah gave me back my ideal nose which looks completely natural. He lengthened and projected it as well as giving me back a refined sharp tip.

Hi Realself community. I have decided to share my experience as this site has helped me so so so much to gather the courage needed to go through w my rhinoplasty. i have hated my nose forever. Mostly I have not done this before as I have been to afraid. I have consulted w two doctors in Chicago. Dr Platis and Dr A Shah. I liked them both but feel that Shah is way more experienced in rhino as a facail platic surgeon. He has done over 2000 and is double cerified as a ent as well. I am scheduled in exactly a month and am very e... read more

originally I went to Dr. Shah for subcision (of my acne scars) which he filled with juvaderm . I had about .3 of a syringe of juvaderm left so I asked him to inject my lips with it... When I tell u it lasted a long time it did! I have gotten juvaderm many times in the lips by at least 4 different plastic surgeons and never has it lasted more than 4 months! With Dr. Shah it lasted at least 6 months! I was very pleased! If i still lived in Chicago, I would go to him for 100% of my injections!

I'm sure some of you can empathize with the doubt that comes along with considering rhinoplasty. I will never forget the shock And negative feelings I began to feel around the time of 6th grade when I first noticed my nose was a little different than everyone else's! And when I made the transition from glasses to contacts, around 7-8th grade, I remember asking my friend what she thought of my nose and she told me it was kind of big but my glasses made it worse. What a horrible feeling! Since then I've been somewhat preoccupi... read more

I went to Dr. Shah about 3 years ago for my first consultation. I found out about him after researching online and he seemed to have some pretty good reviews. I then decided against the procedure because my parents were not supportive and I was only 18 at the time. Well its now three years later and I have sense changed my mind (or I guess you could say the idea has never really left my mind). Rather than worry about what my family thinks, Ive decided that this is something that Im going to do for myself. So im hoping to go ... read more

If I didn't absolutely hate my nose, I wouldn't choose elective surgery for myself. But I know it's necessary for me and now at 22 I finally saved enough to do it. I've always dreamed of the day I could get my nose fixed and be able to wear my hair ALL up and out of my face. Or not worry 100% of the time that someone would see me from the wrong angle. Not only is my nose big, but it's crooked too so from one angle it looks huge and horrendously terrifying. So I won't have to hide anymore. I've had one consultation so far in ... read more

So yesterday, Dec. 3rd was surgery date. I was sick to my stomach scared all day before surgery and my surgery wasn't scheduled until 3 pm that day so that day was hell too. I was contemplating going through with it or not. All I could think about were all the risks, and how they didn't seem to be worth the chance of a great outcome. I knew this surgery could lead me down a very happy road or a very deep depression and embarrassment depending on the results. But then again, if I didn't do it I would always wonder, and probab... read more
