Great little scanner, easy to use This scanner is small and compact. I use this to scan receipts for my wife's business and the family medical reimbursements for our FSA. No power cord need since it's powered through the USB port. Extremely easy to use. Just click on the Brother scanner icon, load receipt, and choose which desktop folder that you have created to scan the receipt into and click scan. I use JPEG and works good. Clear image, easy to use Excellent scanner, easy to use and takes up very little space. The images come out very clear. I am satisfied with this purchase.
Five Stars good Product.
Good hardware, terrible software. Very windows 95-esque. Does not work with the Windows 10 "Windows Scan" app. Default software has an ancient Windows 95-like user interface that has unacceptable settings as default (seriously, 100dpi jpg?) which isn't acceptable in 2018. On Brother's website, there is marginally better software ("Button Manager") which once configured makes it /ok/, but not great. Very confusing to setup at first glance, or second glance for that matter. Hardware is decent though. Hasn't jammed once yet.

Simple scan jobs easy to do Works on both PC and Mac. Simple scan jobs easy to do. I had hoped this would work on an Ipad pro with the camera adapter and it did not. Such a small portable device would have been perfect to use with an ipad!
Compact, quiet. Scan to PDF best setting. I predominantly wanted this scanner to scan medical receipts, bills, statements, etc. I opted to download and install the latest driver from the Brother website, rather than use the accompanying CD. It was easy to find on the Brother site and easy to install. By default, the scanner software wants to scan the document as a JPEG.
