A horrible experience. My wife has been there for a few weeks now. The therapy department is excellent, the medical department is horrific. Last night, she was visibly upset about something they were doing and they completely ignored it. When they left the room she was practically in tears. I have been trying to get her discharged today, but they keep putting up new barriers to her release. All of a sudden they are concerned about something that happened yesterday. We were so disappointed in this rehab facility. The physical therapist assigned to us had no idea what an ankle foot orthotic was, how to select or fit one, and ended up giving us a mismatched pair that ended in the wrong part of the foot. Then she proceeded to push my husband to "get him started" walking. Needless to say, he fell. Two other patients in the therapy gym at the time asked her why she pushed him and she said she "had to, to get him going". Went to facility after having a knee replacement. Like most hospitals and rehab facilities, level of communication re patient care between doctors, nurses, therapists, and patients was poor. All OT and PT therapists were good and communicated well directly with me, but when it came to trying to align the rehab schedule with the pain med schedule, communication broke down. This should not happen. Like other places, some nurses are very good and others are not. Though there were some nurses who communicated well and were on t... read more
