They consistently and outrageously jack up their rates. In less than a year my rates have doubled (not from the intro teaser rate but from the actual rate). They have units the same size and location as mine that they are offering for far less than my new rate. These are deceptive and unethical practices and I will be clearing out my unit as soon as possible.

Although our initial experience with the Extra Space Storage on Mexico St Denver CO was positive, our last several visits have been terrible. No carts were available to transport our heavy boxes the last two visits and when we arrived today (April 2, 2025) there was no one in the office for the next several hours to assist us. When I received my bill for my fourth month, I was shocked at the $100 rate increase. Though the customer service agent who helped secure my unit explained the perks of my month-to-month lease, she omitted that my rate would increase twice over the next year. Upon looking at my lease, I found the verbiage to be vague and elusive at best. This is a horrible company at least the Colorado & Mexico facility. When we were done using the storage. We told them we were leaving ahead of time and when we were done we checked out. We then received a call saying we owed for the next month. We said we have been out of there since last month . They said there is a lock on the unit. We said it's not our lock. The manager at this location is up to something and other customers/employees have suggested she is allowing homeless to take shelter inside the building. She seems to know the homeless people who were in the building while I was there on several occasions and she told them they had 5 minutes to leave as they didn't have units there and were not customers. Our unit was robbed 6 months ago and it was obviously not amateurs just getting in a unit and grabbing and running. Very selective in what they stole so very apparent they knew what was in there. They refused to give the camera files to the police but claimed "we reviewed them ourselves and don't see anything or anyone". Inside job, sure looks that way.

AVOID! Absolutely rude staff. Our car was broken into, they busted out our back window while parked in the "secure" lot which is supposed to be gated and the gate was broken for months. We filed a police report and the staff was supposed to get back to us about the camera footage and never did. Also, more recently was 2 weeks past due on our payment and I stopped by to grab something, was locked out from our code, I asked the staff person if she could let me in to grab something and she was incredibly rude about it and denie... read more

Predatory. The website does not allow you to log in and make payment changes over the weekend. There was a pipe thar burst, their insurance refused to cover my water damaged items. 0/10 not recommended.

I rented a 10 x 10 unit for $140/mo at the E Mexico Extra Space Storage a year ago. Prepaid for the entire year. Just got a notice that my rent would go up by $64/month to $204/mo at the end of this month. I went to the website and found there is a 10 x 10 unit for $138/mo. I made a reservation then called and spoke with Virginia, the manager at that site. She explained that my reservation would be honored for the next 3 days only and was for a different unit.
