My first visit to this facility was actually quite pleasant. John the assistant manager was very friendly and introduced himself as soon as I walked through the door. He walked me through the process and got my storage unit reserved immediately which was great. The facility is nice and clean and I was really impressed. Not impressed so far. This is the second time I've been here in the last few days to drop some stuff off. Can't get inside the gate. It's 7 pm. Keypads are locked down like if it's after 10pm. Called for help and they left a message for the manager to call me in 10-15 minutes. Been sitting here waiting... waiting... still waiting because I don't want to go back home and unload this stuff at my house. Who has time for this? Facility is nice. Today my boyfriend and I went to ask why they were raising the rent on his storage unit. The lady at the front desk told us that we were "paying a promotional rate and they raise it after a few months, that's how they get customers in, is to give them a low rate at first." When I asked why they didn't mention that they would be raising it after a few months when we signed up for our unit, she said that "they aren't allowed to mention it and if the customer was smart enough to ask, then they could tell them." Horrible experience with this place. Location on Slaughter and First only had 1 working elevator on the Sunday I was scheduled to move. People were fighting for the elevator, no maintenance on site to fix it. I went the day before to pay for storage since they are closed on Sundays and the manager did not mention there was only 1 working elevator. I had to put my stuff elsewhere because I was being charged by the hour from my movers. Extra space storage DID NOT issue a full refund and I have not even received the partial ref... read more
