Stay away from this place! They are either horribly incompetent with their security or they are involved in the crimes. Several units were broken into, including my own, where thieves made away with thousands of dollars worth of camera gear. Now the police are telling me that the management at this location are not cooperating with the investigation and withholding access to the security camera footage. What a horrible experience. They have such poor security here. The doors are cheap wood doors, and they easily pried off the locking mechanism. Not my actual lock, but the entire structure that keeps it latched. They don't have good video coverage They are constantly raising the rent, which DOUBLED in just over a year, and yet for all I paid out, much of my stuff is now in the hands of criminals. If you value your property, I suggest you find some place more secure than this dump.

I have used Extra Storage in NorCal in SF Bay area on 2 different occasions and never thought twice as I locked up and drove away often leaving my items for up to a year without any worry. Sadly I cheaped out on the LA division of this chain and not even 2 months in my unit was burglarized. The lockers are wood and someone pulled the entire door mechanism off without even opening/or breaking the lock. I lost many items of value but mostly items that can never be replaced. LARGE UNANNOUNCED RENT INCREASES IS A COMPANYWIDE POLICY AND TACTIC SO IT AFFECTS ALL LOCATIONS, NOT JUST THE ONE I RENTED FROM. Do not rent from Extra Space Storage. 1. Hidden in their agreement is that they can (and do) raise your rent at any time. 2. After ONE MONTH at the advertised rate that I signed up for ($167/mo) they raised it by 50%!!! 3. Whatever Extra Space Storage you choose, be ready for a huge price increase. We had to move from our Venice location because our 5x10 space kept getting increased $10 to $20 every so often until it was $350 a month. So we moved to another location in Fox Hills where a 5x10 started at $167 and 4 months later jumped to $247 - even worse than Venice! When we complained, the manager Vera Starks said that "was normal." The rate exchange notice blamed "current market conditions." What a scam!
