So my rent increased again 15% after another 8 months. I think the most insulting part about this is twofold...the language that "their rates are reviewed and adjusted depending on market conditions" really just means because they're not regulated they can just do it, end of story. Useless. I book a unit online. So far so good, until I arrive on property. I unload everything and the same person helping me check-in and get a cart forgot to mention it's on the 2nd floor. Nevermind the listing said it was first floor convenient access. This is after the employee couldn't figure out how to use a keypad for five minutes. Not a very smart, economical or a good decision to rent at this location and unfortunately maybe with this company. There should be rent control placed on storage companies in LA county and their practices with extensive price increases. I have rented at this location a few times and have a longterm history renting with the company. Now recently after having a new storage since nearly the beginning of November "23" my rate is already increasing double the price starting in February "24". Do NOT use this facility. My storage unit was robbed TWICE and Extra Space did absolutely nothing. The second time that it was robbed, they didn't even inform me of the break-in. I had so many items stolen that I would not be surprised if my unit was left open for days. This facility is NOT secure, the doors are easily broken into, they have an open back gate. The service staff was great, the ability to drive up into the building was handy and the unit was fine BUT they DOUBLED THE RENT after 3 months. I also use a space across town at StorQuest and they only raised my rent 8% after 7 months.

Watch yourself when renting from this company. I figured that it was too good to be true when I found this place being one of the cheaper options in the area. I rented a large storage space and intended to keep it indefinitely. Then after 4 months they increased my rental cost from $275 to $350 which is an $80 increase! Now I am in a bit of a bind because the cost of moving to another storage facility with a different company will still cost me a good amount of money and time.... but you already knew that didn't you Extr... read more
My box truck was stolen from their 5th floor! Both Maria and Hector told me to calm down and to leave their office because they were uncomfortable with me being angry that my lovliehood (moving truck) was stolen 2 weeks ago, MCDUH they already knew that. At $438.90 a month they know how important going to work is for us clowns. @ 930am when i arrived with a police report from 8am, oh yeah thats when the police report station opens . Beware! Extra Storage bought this location from Sherman Oaks Mini-storage and dramatically raised rates. They are doing this throughout LA and in Phoenix as well. My rent from $151 to $231 in June 2022. They are a large corporation and very unscrupulous. They do not upgrade nor maintain their newly purchased properties as to remotely justify such a increase. My space was broken into recently and valuable items taken. Not a secure facility. Bad security cameras. Management was of very little help.
