I found a kitten and I took her to the vet the next day. They gave everything what the kitten needed up to date and at the end of the day I had to put down the kitten. She had a disease that was going to end up the cat not living within a year and it could pass on to other cats. I normally never have a problem going here however, I accompanied my mom because she had to unfortunately put her beloved 14-year-old dog down. My mother is older and has severe asthma and was obviously very upset about having to do this. When we finally got called in my mom was having a hard time breathing and was coughing. Shame on them ! Rip off. Unnecessary testing, additional costs, my dog was sick I brought him in, bloodwork is reasonable. Then the Chest X-rays that can't be read at the office, the antibiotics by iv at the office, and more tests were to much, ok but I did them. on12/26/19 I went to pick up medicine for my dog, she takes galaprant 50mg daily. when the girl gave me the medication I looked at it and saw that it was the wrong medication, it was gabapentin 100mg. this could have been dangerous if I had not checked.
I moved to the area and started taking my animals here to avoid a longer car ride. At first it was great they had a cat clinic which was great because all the dogs barking freaks the one cat out. Went back last month and they got rid of the cat clinic. Ok. That's fine. Waited 45 minutes don't really love that the vet stresses them out as it is. Vet comes in finally. Had an appointment for our 2 family dogs last night. Got there on time and checked in they told me to wait until we are called. THEY KEPT US WAITING FOR 1 HOUR AND 40 MINUTES. I couldn't believe it! After 25 minutes we asked when it was our turn..after another half hour we asked again. We got same answer. My family used this clinic for 15 years with no issues, until recently. Because of this practice's negligence, my 5-year-old boxer had to be put down WAY before his time. We visited due to there being a lump on his neck. The Dr. biopsied the lump to find it was not cancerous, so she did absolutely nothing, not even a follow-up. We have used Family Pet Clinic of Southampton for 141/2 years and never had a complaint. They were always kind to our dog, he loved being boarded there, and he had successful surgery there several times. Yesterday it was obvious our dogs life was coming to an end.
