I took my son in for a simple hand laceration. The NP stated he needed a "hand surgeon consult and better pain medications." I have worked ER for 15 years - I tried to explain that my son showed no indications for either and asked her to suture. She refused and sent us to the ER. We also saw a NP at the ER who quickly sutured his hand with no additional meds and definitely no consult - infact we both got a laugh out of the suggestion. I've been using the dermatology services at the Winchester, Tn. Fast past. I have insurance. I used my debit card to pay the co-pay. Apparently, when you do that, you also agree that they can deduct whatever they want going forward without notice. Without a bill showing what you owe and why. They simply took my money, even though I'd gone in and requested they remove my debit card from their file.
