I had an anterior THR on December 1, 2017, and I was home the next day. Dr. Boettner’s recommendation was “walk, walk, walk,” and although I was sceptical about not having physical therapy, I followed his instructions and within 2 weeks I was driving and back at the gym. He is an excellent surgeon; he is thorough and explained everything. I have and will continue to recommend him.
I had malaligned kneecaps and bone deterioration in both knees that various orthopedists told me could not or should not be dealt with. Dr. Boettner was not deterred. He did total knee replacement on each of my knees within the last 6 months and I am recovering very well. I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Boettner if you have been told that there is nothing that can be done. I am 53yrs old and I have a complicated knee history back from when I was young and needed a tibial tuberosity relocation, a lateral release and other procedures to help deal with a regularly dislocating patella. Dr B was the only one of the 3 drs that that I consulted w that physically examined my knee and my history. He determined that surgery was not imminent and opted to try a cortisone injection. I am pain free for the first time in 6 mo. When I finally need the surgery dr B it is!
Dr Boettner is a wonderful surgeon. He did bilateral hip replacements 3 months apart and I have my life back. I am very grateful and I highly recommend him.
On 10/13/17 I had anterior THR performed by Dr. Friedrich Boettner. Dr. Boettner is a highly skilled surgeon and is very specific about what to expect every step of the way. If you follow what he tells you to do the results are amazing! I was able to go to my sons Parents Weekend two weeks post-op with no problem at all. I am six week post-op now and there are times during the day I almost forget I had the surgery I feel so wonderful! I am looking forward to having my other hip done on 2/9/18.

I had an anterior approach total hip replacement by Dr Boettner on Friday June 30th 2017. I went home the following day and was navigating the steps in my house and independently performing my daily cares ( including showering) by Tuesday.. Dr Boettner is a highly skilled surgeon as well as a very compassionate man. I would recommend him to anyone needing a THR. You will not be disappointed in both the doctor and his staff. It has been one year since I had a minimally invasive hip replacement and (two months later) a right knee replacement. It changed my life and I am so happy to have chosen such a great doctor. Dr. Boettner looks great on paper and he does not disappoint in his surgical skills. So grateful for every thing he did for me and highly recommend him to family and friends.
I had both hip joints replaced by Dr. Boettner last year, and after enduring months of painful limping I am more than grateful to him for having restored a physical ability that we would like to take for granted: walking and moving at ease. The healing process went remarkably well, and thanks to Dr. Boettner’s surgical know-how I am back to “full speed.”
