I was sending food to a family that was celebrating. Door Dash was to deliver but they messed up the order by offering something that wasn’t available and the mistake wasn’t caught until the food was nearly ready to be picked up by the driver. The manager of Grindstone called about the error and offered to find something that this family would enjoy at no extra cost. They even threw in dessert even though the mistake wasn’t theirs. Great place, great food, service was excellent as well!!
This was our first time visiting this establishment, and we had been told great things about the food. Our reason for the visit was a birthday celebration with friends, and we all felt it missed some marks during our visit. Our waitress seemed frustrated that night and forgot to take one couples order for appetizers. Then when one of the crab dip orders came out, it was actually very burnt on the top and was a very small portion for the price. The server was very good, the food was good, its not the most ideal set up with COVID and social distancing but the restaurant did the best they could. I have to eat gluten free and they offer a gluten free bun which is much appreciated plus my server knew about the allergy which is also a plus! My husband go the peach martini and he said was delicious. We will definitely be going back to try out more menu items and possible sit outside next time.
I reserved an evening reservation for 4 people at Grindstone on the Monon using the Open Table app. I needed to add an additional person to the reservation, and called the restaurant. They added the person without any problem. When we arrived for our reservation, they were ready and seated us right away. Food and service was great. Didn’t enjoy sitting by the kitchen door and drink station. Ask to be moved but was told they didn’t have anywhere to move us to.
