We celebrated Valentine’s Day at Grindstone on the Monon. Our waiter was cordial and attentive. He did forget to give us plates for our appetizer. I asked a passing employee about them. She brought two plates, passed by my (Black) boyfriend and gave me both plates. Hmmmmm. Our order was correct (fried green tomatoes appetizer, shrimp and grits, and jambalaya pasta) and the food was delicious. It had been awhile since we had been there.

Went for a Valentine's Day dinner and we impressed by the variety on the menu. Staff was great and they did not disappoint.

Arrived at 730 and had a reservation. Table not avail. Host suggested table on patio. Checked it out. Too cold to accept. No ambience out there. Got table soon but right at server station. Probably one of least desired tables there. Both got 13 oz prime rib. Flavor okay, but 30 to 40% was fat or grizzle.

We were promptly waited on by Gabriel. He was a great representative of Grindstone. He was friendly, listened and responded to our requests perfectly. The food was well prepared and way above average on quality. The atmosphere is perfect. Parking is easy. This is a great place to entertain family, friends or out of town quests.

The server was not very attentive to our group. She didn’t refill drinks very frequently and took a long time to greet our table and even longer to come back and take our order. Food was good and it was clean.
