My experience was not as favorable as I anticipated. The care providers must be attentive & compassionate. Do NOT ask an Alzheimer's patient/client if he/she remembers something! Do not clock-in at my neighbor's home two doors down, arrive at my door eight (8) minutes later & charge me for services not provided. Worse still, the care provider was dismissed 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. The agency could benefit from training the aides with SKILLED RNs & family members. We are early in our partnership with Griswold. I am still navigating the process and trying to cover all bases. Each step is a first and sometimes I feel like I'm stepping backwards. I'm sure that my stress will be calmed as my familiarity with the “expectations†grows. Right now, I sometimes feel like disaster is around the corner. Good, howver we would prefer to see the same caregivers for the same shifts and limit the assignment of different caregivers for the same shifts. Note some fill ins are excellent but they are just fill ins and not caregivers who would be available for permanent shift assignments.
