Get directionsGenerally the support is good. Every now and then there a slips in support and that varies by staff member and staffing levels. Overall I am comfortable we found the best available space in our area. It has been nice to see the community welcome my loved one and provide many opportunities for social interaction at meal and entertainment events.
Overall, the facility provided a clean, safe, and supportive environment for [Name Removed] during a very difficult transition. One of the strongest aspects of the care was the OT, PT, and speech therapy staff — I would rate them a 10. They helped [Name Removed] navigate her situation successfully and ultimately return home with supervision from me. The facility was consistently clean, which helped avoid the urine odors I have experienced in other nursing homes. The open layout and airy walking areas also contributed to a sa... read more
This is a clean looking place. Every staff person who sticks around is consistent, but quality of interactions is inconsistent. Most of the problems are due to understaffing so some staff are too busy to be friendly or can’t remember concerns. [names removed] are wonderful long term staff. Some of the new staff since January are promising. They are doing their best under conditions of understaffing. They need at least one more staff person per shift. Some of the people who brings medications to residents in their apartment c... read more
I like that the floor plans were the same in both assisted living and memory care for ease of transition. I found the atmosphere a bit sterile. I saw a few staff members sitting and on their phones while waiting for residents trickling in for lunch. When I asked about a gluten free diet, I was told that if a resident didn’t want the main dish being served, they could always order a chef salad (this was the response twice). Overall, it appeared friendly and clean, but probably not what my loved one needs.
They didn't have the personal I felt they needed to handle mom's issues. They tried, just not enough help. I think that's an issue most places these days. Ended up taking her home where I could kept better eyes and nearer to her to help reaction her mobility needs. Because of her mobility issues and dementia she didn't know she needed help to get up and move around making her a fall risk. With the restrictions placed on care facility's they couldn't do a lot to keep her safer and less at risk of falling.
Looking back, getting to know the staff right away is very important.
I give all of these categories a 5! My mom really loves it there. The staff have been very helpful with any questions I have had.
I would not recommend unless you are willing and able to spend a lot of time and energy physically being present to be able to advocate for your loved one. In other words, fairly, and sadly, typical of care these days.
Very large, corporate for-profit facility. High staff turnover rate-often understaffed due to employees not showing up for work. Main areas clean, hallways, dining areas need attention. Good activities. The only consistent staff member was [name removed] who has been at Heritage for years and is excellent -overworked and underpaid for all she contributes-she know every resident personally and is so helpful. Heritage is extremely expensive -moved to a smaller facility with a room 2x the size, better level of care from daily c... read more
