We've had all our cats seen there. Dr. Whitefield is the best! Thorough, compassionate, friendly to both patient & owner. She always takes the time we need to guide us & make us feel better about our cats' treatment. Highly recommend!

We've been bringing Roxy here since 2019, when we first moved to Fishkill. Roxy, now 16 years old is doing great! Their care and expertise has been excellent and the recommendation to change her diet has made a difference. The provide a thorough annual checkup and discuss issues with options to consider, or to look further into. I appreciate the information and how they always respect my decision. We had some difficulty with the Beacon Vet holding a script hostage for our dog that has addisons. they made a decision after they moved to their new location, that my dog who usually gets tested once a year needed to be tested twice a year. When I refused the twice a year testing, they said they would no longer be able to give us a script to our dog's life saving meds ( if she doesn't get her shot once a week, she will die). I have been using this Veterinary group for close to 20 years now. Used it when I had my first dog. After I had to put her down, I rescued two other dogs and started using them again. The one thing I really like about this practice, is that they have a 24 hour emergency office. They are open 7 days a week and holidays. Most Vets don't offer this service. Lovely facility and very friendly staff and vets, BUT they are crazy expensive. The visit, flea and tick meds, tests, everything is more expensive than at another comparable vet in the same area. They seem to have specialized services that might be good for some and may not be available elsewhere. But if you just need basic services for your animal, there are other places where you won't have to pay an arm and a leg. I have taken my business to The Hudson Valley Animal Rescue where they offer affordable services.
I can't say enough good things about Husdon Highlands. They have taken such good care of my two dogs and my cat! I've been there with two emergencies also. The staff is extreamley nice and the doctors I've dealt with, Kalba, Christensen, Whitefield and Monte have alwayes helped me make the most practical choices for me and my pets, not the most expensive! I highly recommend them, both offices, Beacon and Lime Kiln.
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at HH. The level of compassion and caring that they showed during an extremely difficult time went well above and beyond the norm. Apparently the only complaints here are about $$. Totally understandable to be concerned about cost, but too bad that the initial screen only shows overall rating without a breakdown by the reviewers' priority.
I was turned away by my regular vet in the event of an emergency with my cat. I called Hudson Highlands and they were able to see me right away. The staff members were all very friendly and down to earth. I'm sorry I didn't bring my cat here sooner. I will definitely be returning! The facility is a little outdated, but the overall experience was great. As for previous reviews about the expenses, you can't' put a price on your beloved pet!
The care my dogs get at Hudson Highlands is second to none. The staff is caring, the doctors are very through, and our groomer, Laura, is incredible. They know our dogs and we have never EVER had an issue with billing, getting an appointment, or coming in when there's an emergency. I would never take my furry babies to another place.
