I have been going to HH in the Hopewell as well as the Beacon office since 1978. I have been using Hudson Highlands Medical Group for probably as long as they have been in business, about 30 years, all the way back to when Dr. Whitefield started the group in that tiny building in East Fishkill. I have nothing but praise for this group. Last year they guided us through a very difficult time when our beloved Kitty had lymphoma. I called and sent an email to inquire about availability for dog boarding. My dog boarded there for 2 weeks during the summer and I was happy with the service. So, I decided to use them again for dog boarding. No one returned my call or email. I called and left a message and sent another email. Still no reply. I called again and again and finally someone answered and I asked about dog boarding. We considered ourselves "long time clients" of this "group" as we have been bringing our pets to the Hudson Highlands veterinary medical group for at least 15 years now. We bring our pets to both the beacon and lime kiln offices. My Review was taken down! Im not surprised. So, Here it is again!! I wish I read the reviews for Dr. Paul McNamara before I visit that office and was verbally abused by the Dr. My German Shepherd had a Cruciate Ligament surgery (TTA) at my local vet in Rockland County and although that surgery went well, My Nyla now needed to get the Left leg repaired as well. John M. I don't recommend taking your pet to this place. The front desk workers seem to be pleasant. However, the whole experience I had with my dog basically put me in debt. My dog had a serious problem, was constantly coughing morning and night. He was told he had a murmur, but they never alarmed me of the severity. they claimed that this was due to his trachea. I'm on the fence about Hudson Highlands. While they've never been rude, they are VERY expensive. I've had them tell me that blood work indicated a low or high level of this or that and then want $100 or more to run another test to verify the results. This is rather interesting only because the same blood work taken a few years earlier with the same results didn't need verified. This place has been my vet for years. I brought my dog in not long ago who was very sick, though previous to this day she had been fine. They wanted to take her in and run tests, but would not let me leave without providing my credit card. Got into an argument over this, how I'd been a loyal customer and always paid my (expensive) bills I've gotten from them in years past. Guess what----HH thinks writing a bill that says "invoice: $238" is an itemized bill? WTF....I still want to know why I was charged an astronomical fee for a puppy sick visit. Especially since the prior sick visit fee was $130. Yes...I REFUSED to pay unitl they can itemize their services for that visit....so we are haggling. They are threatening collection...but until I get that itemized bill they will not be paid. DO you think I am being fair? Who regulates these guys ????????
