I have always used Hudson Highlands for all our veterinary care but when Izzy ate an entire bottle of Motrin they went above and beyond in her care. I believe that the efforts of Dr. Stephen Furst and Dr. Springer along with the vet techs saved Izzy's life. I would highly recommend Hudson Highlands to anyone with a pet. They are wonderful. We have brought our lab to Hudson Highlands since she was a puppy. Dr. Kalba and all of the techs (especially Laura!) have been wonderful since day one. Our girl has food allergies and HHVMG has always been supportive. Recently she was diagnosed with Addison's Disease. HHVMG dove right in and treated our girl right away. Just days after we noticed her decline in health and brought her to HHVMG, she is back to her normal energetic self! I have been to many vets over the years in New York and New Jersey and this one has been by far the best. they are understanding and they will work with you to find a solution for whatever it is ailing your pet. they take their time to explain everything and you never feel rushed or pressured you leave there feeling good.
We have been taking our 3 dogs to Hudson Highlands for over 6 years now, and have ALWAYS had excellent experiences. From the front desk staff to the vet techs and assistants to the Vets themselves, we are always so impressed with the care provided. The doctors (particularly Dr. Kalba & Dr. Springer) spend time with us to thoroughly explain everything in easy-to-understand terms, and we never feel rushed. I can't say enough good things about Husdon Highlands. They have taken such good care of my two dogs and my cat! I've been there with two emergencies also. The staff is extreamley nice and the doctors I've dealt with, Kalba, Christensen, Whitefield and Monte have alwayes helped me make the most practical choices for me and my pets, not the most expensive! I highly recommend them, both offices, Beacon and Lime Kiln.
Dr Springer is great with our two rescues. They were seeing her before we adopted them so it was nice to keep the same vet. The office is very nice, staff is very friendly and they sell a lot of pet products in the lobby which is very convenient. I was impressed at how helpful the staff was on the phone even before we came in for our first visit!
What a great experience it has been to have been referred to the specialist at Hudson Highlands Vet Group at Hopewell Jct by my local vet. My cat, PJ, was exhibiting signs of acute onset blindness and weight loss prompting me to immediately be pro-active. They arranged a prompt appointment, and spent over an hour with PJ. He was diagnosed with high blood pressure, which can cause the retina to start to detach, and was tested for many other things.... in order to monitor him closely, they arranged to keep him overnight. It's bothered me for 20 years and with the passing of our latest furry family member in such a peaceful and beautiful way, I'm reminded of a wound that never healed. ~ I was in my very early adulthood when my husband and I adopted a Beagle, Jack. Poor pup developed osteosarcoma at about 3 years old. He was diagnosed by Dr. McNamara. He recommended we euthanize Jack. Certainly a hard time. My girlfriend Kassie drove 4 hours round trip with our dog Watley, to see Dr. McNamara. Watley is a chow breed, but he is not aggressive or mean. However he is *extremely* shy and anxious. He has NEVER bitten anyone or come close to it. Even after Kassie put a muzzle on Watley, the doctor refused to examine him and was extremely condescending
