Parking was a disaster. Front blocked off for valet, yet was free. A lot of food ran out and took time to replace. Reservations horrible. I ahd to wait like I walked in.
We would recommend training new wait staff on tables not celebrating a special occasion. A few disappointments with service resulted in a lower rating than last time...
Since this is a steak restaurant, the most important part is of course the steaks. I had the bone in rib eye, perfectly cooked, perfect crust, very tasty, and overall outstanding steak. My wife had the bacon wrapped fillet. Her steaks were also perfectly cooked, well-seasoned and fantastic. My wife had two different cocktails, both well mixed and tasted great. The last two times I have eaten at this restaurant my steak was over cooked. Flavor of the meat was marginal. Staff was friendly. Over all experience was mediocre at best.
My steak was over-cooked and they brought another that was under-cooked. By that time I was hungry so I didn’t bother sending it back. I usually order a medium well and it normally pink in the middle. My first steak had no pink and the second was bloody. The service was great though.
Service was great. Food was not. We were seated immediately. Lobster bisque was too salty and had no chunks of lobster. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Ribeye was grizzly, not marbled, not very flavorful, and was tough to chew. My bride makes better salmon and I grill a better ribeye. Can't believe I spent nearly $250 (incl tip) on this dinner.
The ambiance was pleasant and the service was very good, but my wife and I both had upset stomachs for a couple of days. Something in the food was off.
My husband took me here for my birthday and they made us wait about an hour for our table even though we had an OpenTable reservation. His steak was over cooked and tasteless. They brought me a desert with a message "Happy Anniversary". Did a mention was my birthday. Never again.
Unfortunately, our experience at J Prime this time around was a disappointment. In particular, the service was severely lacking for a restaurant of this caliber. It took more than 15 mins to receive the first cocktail. This was followed by multiple accounts of delays and mistakes including a steak that was over cooked and service that was unbearably slow.
