After hearing Jack Pixley referred to on one of the local radio station home shows, I called to get an estimate to repair our chimney. The initial problem was pieces of chimney flue tile on the ground after windy days. Turned out that I needed my chimney cap replaced. In the end, I did not go with Jack Pixley for two reasons. When our company is called out for a repair estimate we send a Certified Chimney Technician that has been certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. They are not just there to determine if there is brick work or masonry work that is necessary. The estimator came out, looked it over, and said we'd get an estimate in the mail in several days. No estimate came. Upon calling them they told me, "Your chimney is too tall, we are not going to give you a bid on the project." However, they did bill me. I wrote back saying that I wasn't going to pay because I never received an estimate. They billed me again. I paid it, figuring I didn't want the hassle with a potential lien against the property. This was a rip-off.

I called on 11/7/05 to schedule appointment to repair a chimilator. Appointment was set for 11/30/05 because Pixley was very busy. They confirmed the appointment for the 30th on 11/29/05. On 11/30, Pixley cancelled apt for that day. The appointment was then set for 12/30. I then received a message that the appointment was set for 12/23. I called on 11/22 to determine if the appointment was the 23d or the 30th. I was told they could not do the service either day because it was too late in the season and it could be unsafe. THEY HAD A TEAM OF TWO MEN, A YOUNGER ONE AND A OLDER ONE. THE YOUNGER MAN WAS VERY CONDESCENDING AND RUDE TO THE OLDER MAN, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. THE YOUNGER MAN ALSO HIT ON ME AS THEY WERE LEAVING, OFFERING HIS PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER OFFERING TO TAKE ME OUT FOR COFFEE SOMETIME. THAT MADE ME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
THE PEOPLE I DEALT WITH AT JACK PIXLEYS WERE ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS, BUT I THINK MY JOB WAS LOST IN THE SHUFFLE.
