My adult son is a patient of Dr. Irwin. The initial intake was thorough, and I felt she was very responsive to his issues. He usually sees Donna Bowers now, who we absolutely love. On occasion, our son has needed an emergency visit, and they provide that. Any time Dr. Irwin feels that she needs to check on him, she is sure to do so, which we truly appreciate. Dr. Irwin and Donna Bowers have helped our entire family with his issues. I highly recommend Dr. Irwin & Donna Bowers. They're a godsend!

Dr. J Irwin is a Psychiatrist in Norman, OK, who offers Psych Med Mgmt Svcs & an esketamine clinic. I have been a patient w her clinic since 2023. I just found out she's been treating me outside of approved FDA protocol for over a year. After a year, it lost its efficacy, and we started a taper onto something else.But our taper got interrupted by covid. For years, I've put up with the sour, scowling front desk staff, in order to see Donna Bowers, but today I had the pleasure of encountering office manager, Teresa. I have been dealing with constant pelvic pain for 7 months. Today it is so bad I can barely move. I called to reschedule and was told it was a $50 cancellation fee. I know I can't make it. Tried 3 different medications that did not work. Never even saw the Dr. The PA only prescribed what they get paid for. No confidence in their office. They don't care. Not good for someone with depression
I have to say Nicole is a good provider. The office manager ruins the whole psychiatry experience. It makes you want to never go back. I was told this prior to referral. They were right.
Dr Irwin will gladly take your $300 for an exam but she does not know the rules And regulations used by VA, and the VA representative that ‘advises her’ does not understand the regulations required by VA for a clear and concise exam for rating purposes. If you ask for a clarification for her exam to prevent you from having to attend another VA exam she will refuse. Dr. Irwin is brilliant and stays up with current research. She had good ideas to manage my treatment resistant diagnoses. However, her office policies are unreasonably strict and authoritarian. If you are late for one appointment, you are fired. The reason or intention does not seem to matter. This is not patient-centered care, and it breaks any trust that has been built between provider and patient. Recommend looking elsewhere for mental health care that includes compassion and a human approach
I went to Dr. Irwin for a few years. She was the first psychiatrist I had ever been to so I didn't have any experience to know whether my experience was normal or not. Dr. Irwin broke Dr. /patient confidentiality by standing in the doorway of waiting room talking to father of patient stating patient needed to be inpatient. Last visit to Dr. Irwin I was severely depressed and needed help. Visit was about 5 minutes, not normal 10. She didn't acknowledge my concerns. Told me I was doing good.
