I have to say Nicole is a good provider. The office manager ruins the whole psychiatry experience. It makes you want to never go back. I was told this prior to referral. They were right.
Business response:
I strive to ensure all of my patients receive quality care. I have never heard a complaint regarding office staff. The office manager is located in the back of the building and does not have direct contact with pts. So I am not sure who you are complaining about. I would gladly address any issues that are brought to my attention. If your "whole office experience was ruined" based on limited interaction with office staff, i would highly recommend that you remain in therapy and treatment.
Dr Irwin will gladly take your $300 for an exam but she does not know the rules And regulations used by VA, and the VA representative that ‘advises her’ does not understand the regulations required by VA for a clear and concise exam for rating purposes. If you ask for a clarification for her exam to prevent you from having to attend another VA exam she will refuse. She will have her secretary reach out to you to tell you she will not provide additional information needed by the VA to rate your claim. Save your money, this do... read more
Business response:
I have been doing DBQ's for my vets since 2010. I am well aware of VA regulations and requirements. Unfortunately it is the VA that has the final say regarding ratings. I spend 30-45 min per exam. I have never completed an exam in 15min. This is also a one time exam. Once done, I cannot legally alter it. I have helped literally thousands of vets get higher ratings. I am saddened to see this review by a misinformed pt.
Dr. Irwin is brilliant and stays up with current research. She had good ideas to manage my treatment resistant diagnoses. However, her office policies are unreasonably strict and authoritarian. If you are late for one appointment, you are fired. The reason or intention does not seem to matter. This is not patient-centered care, and it breaks any trust that has been built between provider and patient. Recommend looking elsewhere for mental health care that includes compassion and a human approach
Business response:
It is rare to terminate pts from the practice. Individuals that are no call/no show often deprive others from getting in. I have terminated a few of those patients that have repeated appt failures or are habitually late.
I went to Dr. Irwin for a few years. She was the first psychiatrist I had ever been to so I didn't have any experience to know whether my experience was normal or not. Dr. Irwin broke Dr. /patient confidentiality by standing in the doorway of waiting room talking to father of patient stating patient needed to be inpatient. Last visit to Dr. Irwin I was severely depressed and needed help. Visit was about 5 minutes, not normal 10. She didn't acknowledge my concerns. Told me I was doing good.
Business response:
No confidentiality was broken. No pts name was mentioned or seen. The father was there looking for direction.
As a medical student I started experiencing mental health issues. I decided to seek professional care at Dr. Irwin's practice. My first visit lasted about 10 minutes. This visit consisted of an extremely inadequate gathering of my medical history and a bewildering dialogue about the treatment option. I left feeling extremely unsatisfied in the care I had received. My visit lacked some of the very most basic things that are taught early on in medical school. I received a very large bill following
Business response:
My first visits are 45 minutes. If this person was scheduled for 10-15 minutes then it was a follow up appt. Any person in crisis can walk in anytime and be seen the same day. Also I am not seeing anyone that is a medical student therefore I question the authenticity of this review.
Donna, the PA is fantastic. Due to a piss poor excuse of an office manager who lies to Dr. Irwin if you disagree with her I would say stay away. If Dr. Irwin hires and trusts such liars as her staff you should boycott, stay away, and findeed you a good doctor. Poor poor poor. And that's after going 17 years
Business response:
I am not aware of any issues with staff. Usually if one has a problem then I am notified. Our secretary has been with us for many years. If there were issues with her ...she would be gone.
