We have been taking our boys to Dr. Kivircik for about 10 years now and my husband and I have nothing but good things to say about Kings Veterinary Hospital. Between the Dr. And the staff at Kings they make you feel as comfortable as possible in good times and bad. Declawing is unnecessary amputation of healthy toe bones. It is banned in many other countries. Since Denver, Colorado has just banned declawing, you know it is seriously wrong to continue doing.
Please reconsider your choice to declaw. Education on what the surgery is and recommendations on alternatives is what an honorable vet would do. The excuse that they would get it done elsewhere if you don’t do it is so sad. That’s not how we raise our kids. They could get drugs elsewhere, so I might as well give it to them. No, you educate against drugs and try your best to support them. Stand strong and refuse to do this. Educate against declaw.
We have taken our animals to see Dr. Goodman (who is a wonderful vet) for 10 years. Sadly, I think the office staff has lost sight of what comes first - taking care of animals. Our beloved cat Leo needs prescription food and it has been mailed to us on a monthly basis. This month it didn't come. When my mom tried to speak to Dr. Goodman about this issue, she was hard to reach. The office staff informed us that we had to take Leo in for his annual exam and then they would give us the food.
