Please reconsider your choice to declaw. Education on what the surgery is and recommendations on alternatives is what an honorable vet would do. The excuse that they would get it done elsewhere if you don’t do it is so sad. That’s not how we raise our kids. They could get drugs elsewhere, so I might as well give it to them. No, you educate against drugs and try your best to support them. Stand strong and refuse to do this. Educate against declaw.
We have taken our animals to see Dr. Goodman (who is a wonderful vet) for 10 years. Sadly, I think the office staff has lost sight of what comes first - taking care of animals. Our beloved cat Leo needs prescription food and it has been mailed to us on a monthly basis. This month it didn't come. When my mom tried to speak to Dr. Goodman about this issue, she was hard to reach. The office staff informed us that we had to take Leo in for his annual exam and then they would give us the food. Just tried to make an appointment, was told 1:00 for Tuesday Jan 26th, than the receptionist told me there wasn't enough time to groom my dog. I think the receptionist who handled my call isn't being supervised

Thank you for the feedback. Typically when scheduling grooming, we find out the breed of the dog prior to offering an appointment slot so that things like this don’t happen. In my best estimation, I think that step was missed during your call. Some breeds do take longer to groom and we have to allow for that in the schedule. I meet with the staff on a regular basis to correct issues as they come up and we have staff meetings twice a month to discuss how to meet people’s needs and hold true to our mission statement.
