After having my furry baby visit Lake Street Animal Hospital I feel the doctors care more about money then the wellness of pets. Long story short, we took our kitten here per the suggestion of the shelter when he was having some issues (gagging, not eating much, not defecating at all) for a few days. They jumped to x-rays right away, told us our pet might not make it through the night, and couldn't help us further because they were closing soon... sent us to an ER vet who didn't see what Lake Street saw. Because of their ina... read more

Business response:

Amber, we are truly sorry to hear you feel this way and can assure you that your cat was treated by a knowledgeable doctor. Unfortunately, we were unable to diagnose your kitty without using sedation which is why we recommended he go for a further workup at a specialist to ensure he would be provided the best care possible.

Gagging, loss of appetite, not going to the bathroom, lethargy? If your cat has any of these symptoms, don't take them here. Take them to Park Rose on Irving Park first. Lake Street cost us $1000 and never even guessed an upper respiratory infection (extremely common for these symptoms). Park Rose diagnosed and correctly treated our cat Percy in less than an hour for about $150. When I asked Dr. Griffin at Lake Street if they would continue to perform this way, she said yes, even knowing she could have saved us over $700 and... read more

I decided to give lake street animal hospital another chance only because it’s more convenient to get to than my current vet. I spoke to someone on Monday asking to have my pets records transferred over, today is Thursday and I have yet to hear anything from them. I was disappointed by them when we used them years ago, shame on me I suppose.

Business response:

Hi Ms. Pearson, we apologize for any miscommunication on our part or the delay in response, that wasn't our intention. Please let us know if we can do anything to help in the future.

This was my first time and last time at this vet. I was looking for a new primary vet. When I spoke with the vet tech, I informed her that I wanted my dog to have a 3 year rabies. When Dr. VanDerWal walked into the room she stated she was going to get the vaccination for him. As she was giving it to him she told me it was the 1 year and I told her (trying to contain how furious I was) that he was supposed to get the 3 year rabies. She then continued to tell me because he was past due on his rabies, that per the law they are ... read more

I've been taking my dog here for almost 7 years from the time I adopted him at 2 months and receive good care. Mainly annual exams, ear cleaning and meds because he's prone to ear infections, and one sickness from a food allergy.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star. The staff is "nice" sure because that's their job. Unfortanetly they try to sell you memeberships that doesn't seem to work. Apparently they save you "money", but at the end of the day you always have an "OUTSTANDING BALANCE" that needs to be payed off just to get your dog's nails trimmed. I mean I understand the staff didn't charge me for what it was supposed to be charged but that's not my fault. I still have to pay for it because it was added to my balance. (Ofcourse they never call me ba... read more

Will no longer take my pets here. Had 2 dogs and one cat. Paid for Paw plans on all 3. My one dog Jaxx had accounting error done on him at end of his Paw plan. We were billed again. Ok we wanted to get his rabies and distemperment. Told we had plan until end of April so make an appt to have these done before it expired. I come in on 4/26th at 15 until 1pm and wait 25 mins then bought in and asked simple questions about Jaxx. Then I asked to make Paw plan covered everything he begins to tell me it expired last month. Called w... read more
