I fully realize that there are women who have had a great experience here. But since my wife did not and she's too nice to write a review, I'll do it for her. She had a good friend visit from Louisiana and she had made appointments for her birthday in advance. The day of their appointment the salon cancelled on them. I went in to the Allen location the Tuesday before Christmas, and had requested a balayage. I showed the stylist the pictures and she said no problem. unfortunately, when I was blow drying, all of my hair ended up in my lap. foils left on too long. wrong toner.. a week later, MY HAIR IS ORANGE AND I HAD TO CUT HALF OF IT OFF! HALF!! DO NOT go to this location for balayage until they actually train their colorists. Awful!

NEVER, EVER GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. NEVER! I am a blonde, and have been my entire life. It's a dirty ash blonde, so I color it. But, by all means, I have spent every living moment of my life a blonde, now with some grey. I have also been coloring my hair since I was 14. I went to Madison Reed, reluctantly, because of some of the reviews. The moment I met Christine, the so called "Colorist" she had attitude. Terrible experience with Christy the manager at Allen Texas store; she was rude. Passive aggressive and insisted on me getting a shade and when I said let's do it; she goes I'm not going to do it and said she would decline services? And I asked why? She had spent 25 Mins ... and I had worked my whole schedule to for this appointment and she responded she didn't care‍ she seemed to be on some trip...I was polite and so she was but boy she was the most negative employee with zero customer service. I still had gray hair visible after i got my roots done at Madison reed. did not expect this experience! first time around the color faded and this time my grays didn't get covered

They're products do not work well with blonde hair. Went to the Watters Creek Color Bar. Wanted to go one level lighter in my dark blonde hair with ash neutral tones. Told colorist my hair pulls warm but the end result was orange roots with no neutral ash tones at all. Not at all close to the color we picked out. Have called their customer service twice & was not able to talk with anyone & still waiting for a call back. I would definitely not recommend for blondes.

First time giving Madison Rees a shot. Had to make an online profile and take a color quiz and add a credit card to my profile as they don't take cash. After taking it and finding the correct color. I made the appointment at the nearest location. Staff was friendly enough but after waiting about ten minutes and putting on the smock they told me they couldn't lighten my dirty blonde hair at all. Would 10/10 not recommend getting a balayage from this location. I showed a specific photo of a basic chocolate brown toned balayage to the stylist and was led to believe the subtle look was possible. My hair looks nothing like the photo, and the bleach was done in such a sloppy and uneven fashion that I look like a spotted cheetah with my brassy toned color starting about an inch from my roots. I would definitely not recommend going here for their balayage service. I have black hair and wanted some chocolate brown highlights/balayage. I showed my stylist a few pictures, and she told me that was definitely achievable. I went to Madison Reed so that I wouldn't have to use harsh chemicals, as they advertise. However, they used a lightener that was completely damaging to my hair and left it looking and feeling very brittle and dry. And my balayage looked absolutely horrible.
