I had a membership for over one year that I cancelled after having a bad experience at DM Highlands. The assistant who washes hair left my color on much too long. I had to interrupt the assistant from asking another customer who came in later than I did to tell her I needed to be washed. The other customer said I had been there a lot longer than she had, and she said it'd be fine to wash me first. I went there for the first time and had a very bad experience. I had an all-over color done by Cynthia and a shampoo by Abi. After the shampoo, I was left on my own to dry my hair. While looking in the mirror, I noticed large dark stains all around my face. I asked the assistant for help, but she didn't seem to care and simply handed me cotton pads. This was my first and last time ever coming here. I wont be coming back. I didnt realize you needed to book to blow dry your hair. On the site it says blow out so I thought that was for people who wanted a blow out. I would think people who were getting a color service (roots/highlights which I got) would be included. Horrible not personal and cheap quality hair dye. The color did not cover gray hair. The service was awful took two people to dye and wash. The lighting in the place is so strong directed directly at your eyes when they wash your hair, the music was so old and low beats. Glad I tried but never again.

Used to the La Jolla location which is always on time and consistent great service. Had to wait over 30 mins past appt, which was fine, but left color on for 30 mins after timer was up and had to ask several times while hair washers took people who came in after me. Not enough staff to wash out hair when timer went off and only one colorist cared (wasnt even the one that did my hair).

I booked my appointment the week off. My first appointment was canceled because the stylist called out. I came the next day and was very confused because I was there for 2.5 hours and I only got 5-6 foils. I wanted a prominent money piece and face framing highlights and showed photos for inspo. I don't think they were very honest about how my hair lifted and the color didn't look similar at all nor was a given a solution by my hair colorist. HORRIBLE SERVICE. The menu makes no sense very over priced. This is a membership salon so just save your breath with this one. Very weird concept. They let you blow dry your own hair standing up it was definitely giving homeless shelter vibes. also my colorist didnt look professional at all she had very greasy hair and they all wear black like there bussing tables. Super weird. There many amazing other salon in the area to go to!
