I was looking for something for my 81YO grandmother diagnosed with dementia. She was manageable at home for a while, but she isnt always compliant with her medication and she often goes thru angry outbursts and for her age to be trying to get up and throw stuff makes the situation even worse - those episodes are putting others at risk of injury and most importantly, injury to self. My daughter has been in the MeadowWood Behavioral Day Program now 3 times over the past 2 years as she elopes and has physical, mental and emotional challenges. The team there consistently have been outstanding. From her teachers Ms. Katherine and Mr. Fred to her nurses Ms. Keesha and Ms. Tracey to her former social worker & psychologist Ms. Michelle. They all have a calling to help troubled children like my daughter and bring out their light They are a 10 PLUS to our family. We could not be more grateful.
After a traumatic experience, we once again found our son in need of inpatient behavioral health care. Locating inpatient for adolescents is challenging, as there are not many facilities in the area who offer this, and even more so, wondering whether this facility or that one is 'good' or 'bad' is somewhat nerve wracking. Some nurses are creepy and belong in horror movies. There are fences (with barb wire) around that facility and while not Guatanamo Bay one cannot movie around freely. It is more like a low security prison than a respectable place for people to recover. They will say...we will know when you do not tell us the truth and we will keep you here for as long as we find it necessary. Knowing it is all for profit, scares the hell out of me. stayed here. be careful what you say when your getting evaluated because i am not crazy at all. the person will just check all the boxes on the evaluation paper despite all of the context behind the questions. beds were plastic and extremely uncomfortable, woke up limping from sleeping on my side. pillows felt like sleeping on a singular piece of cloth... i didnt get my clothes until THE DAY I LEFT. had to borrow another patients clothes so i didnt have to wear disposable scrubs the whole time.also didn't get my clothes i wo... read more

DO NOT ADMIT HERE THEY ARE UNORGANIZED, UNDERSTAFFED, INHUMANE, UNETHICAL AND IT WILL MAKE ANYONES SITUATION WORSE! You can't call to talk to your loved one. They don't update you. They excessively hold patients there with little to no visits from a specialist, if there any on the floor that whole day... I'm surprised they haven't been shut down. Negative star rating.
Terrible treatment of my spouse. Called numerous times to check on my spouse with no response. Social Worker promised updates and reports on his care and medications never received anything. My spouse wound up going to the ER and was in horrific condition when I saw him there. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. He was over sedated and is now trying to recover from his mistreatment at MeadowWood. ZERO stars.
