Great printer... This is my third Brother printer and I can’t be happier with the purchase. Brother has consistently created printers with the same functionality, which makes it easy to operate without all the hassle of reading the manual each time. Would definitely buy again!
Nice Addition This unit was a nice addition to my home office. I occasionally scan larger documents so an automatic feed was important to me. This works well.
Great MFC printer. I have been using Brother MFC printer for over ten years. MFCJ 497 dw is my second printer.
no bells, no whistles basic printer/fax/copier. It is supposed to hold 100 pages, but holds 25. I put in 50 pages, it jams up. It's not a fast printer, but it is nice and clear. Eats up the ink though, I've had it 2 weeks and printed about 75 pages and now on second ink cartridges. I bought it for $99, I got what I paid for.
Acceptable purchase Sale price acceptable. Took an hour to set up, instructions could have been more detailed. Print time is a bit slower than expected but quality is acceptable.
Great Printer I absolutely love this printer. Simple, easy set up. I’m able to air print from my iPhone and MacBook Pro. It also has a paper feed option for scanning. So I’m able to scan several documents at the same time.
Ok printer for the price I only have this printer a couple of weeks. This is an ok printer for the price. It prints in color slowly on the normal mode, and as far as I can tell, there is no “draft” setting for fast printing. Only normal, fine, and best, which I imagine will use more ink.
Brother MFC-J497DW It's a decent printer for the price. I'd previously had an older model Brother that worked great - until it started losing wireless connection. Set up was fairly simple, but getting it to scan using the automatic feeder, to a file on the computer was a bit ridiculous, and their instructions are almost useless on the subject. But, I eventually got it set and it seems to be working well now. I don't do a lot of printing, but if it works as long as the other model, I'll be happy.
