We had an awesome time on then mimosas and lighthouses tour! The captain was friendly and the two girls helping were awesome! We loved hearing about the history of the area. The bait went slowly for most of the tour, but showed off its speed towards the end. Plus, the minosas were practically unlimited, with more refills offered than we were able to take advantage of! There was also water, tea, plain orange juice, and croissants available. We would definitely try one of this company's other cruises if we had more time!
It's a nice way to see things around Newport. My gripe is they over booked the cruise and I happened to be on a cruise where some people took up two seats (purely because of size). I get it but don't book so many people then. I ended up having to sit with one butt check off the end...it was uncomfortable. Otherwise, if they figure that out, I would do it again because you see a lot.
First trip to Newport and my husband and I thought a sailboat tour would be a nice way to see Newport from the sea. The captain and crew of the Madeline were friendly, very knowledgeable, and made our first sailing experience one we will remember for a lifetime. I HIGHLY recommend!!
great tour company . crew was informative and drinks served were awesome! will be back next time
Boarded the Rumrunner II at 7 PM for our sunset cruise. A huge cloud rolled over and it started to storm and hail. However, Nora provided the boat with rum drinks while we waited. They thought they were going to have to cancel our cruise however, Nora and Mark waited out the storm and decided to set sail once it passed. We left about half an hour later than planned but the sunset turned out to be gorgeous and worth the wait. Our stewardess and Captain were excellent and we are grateful that they waited for the storm to pass ... read more
Went with my extended family on the Rum Runner Mimosa and Lighthouse tour at 11:30 am and despite the foggy conditions we truly enjoyed the tour. Captain Jay was the best and navigated the rough waters expertly. Both he and his first mate provided us with an informative tour of beautiful Newport/ Jamestown lighthouses and other historic sights along the way. Totally worth the money. Will definitely be returning for the sail next time.
I didn't expect such a fun crew and smooth sailing when we went aboard. I was in fact expecting to get a bit of nausea, but the crew did a great job of making me feel relaxed and super confident in there sailing and knowledge of the ship and surrounding landmarks. It helped that they were funny too! All in all I 100% recommend the sunset cruise on the Madeleine.
Absolutely phenomenal boat tour. First experience was chartering for a wedding party, and it was a huge hit with everyone, from kids to grandparents. Have been back for several more rides and always enjoy it. The Newport harbor, boats and homes are beautiful regardless of how they are viewed. This boat in particular is our favorite way to see the water side, as it alternates slow and exhilarating fast (getting misted by ocean spray) cruising. Highly recommend, especially on a hot, low wind day where the sailboats are too ... read more
Great music during the boat ride. Our bartender Aria was very attentive. There were periods of slow sailing then fast sailing. Overall great experience with amazing sunset views!!! Update: I left my Michael Kors sunglasses on the boat and the next morning the crew had them for me at the sales desk. SO THANKFUL FOR GREAT PEOPLE!!
