I loved this cruise, as much as you could want to drink throughout, and all around a thoroughly enjoyable voyage around the waterfront sights. Great for all ages and a fantastic day activity for tourists. Launches near a chowder station and an even better meal at the Black Pearl. All around great destination for any tourist looking to really get the essence of Newport, one that can only be found from the vantage of the sea.

My boyfriend and I took the non-alcoholic tour with the Rum Runner II (ironic, I know) a few days ago. It was sunny and hot, but once we got further out into the water, it was just perfect. Our guide--the "first mate" to the captain who reminds me a lot of Michael Bolton--was very informative as she told us about several of the mansions on the (Narrangansett?) bay--which merchant marine or entrepreneur had the house built when, and which was the Bouviers' house, etc. Oh, and of course, she told us about the history of rum-ru... read more

In concluding that my socialite aspirations will never be realized in Newport, as it is now essentially just a highbrow tourist trap (even visits to Sunny von Bülow's old haunts turned up nothing), taking a booze cruise seemed like the only logical choice. My sister took her friends on the Rum Runner II a few weeks ago and it sounded like they had a lot of fun. While visiting Rhode Island this past weekend, we decided to do the boat ride again, and it really is a lot of fun. It's a laid back, inexpensive way to see Newport... read more

This was our third sail. The first two included a lot of narration and the course took us almost up to the Newport Bridge. This time around, there was very little narration. the three young crew seemed more interested in chatting with each other, talking about their work schedules and such. We came out of the wharf, turned left (or south, maybe?) and went down to around the Castle Harbor area and turned back and went back to the wharf. The first two times, the cruise was worth what we paid for it. This time around? M... read more

Whole process from start to finish was super easy! We were able to grab tickets directly and walked around the Wharf until it was our time to board. We checked in and there was sincerely no bad seats on the boat! We had a great time and our captain shared many fun-facts! Great views! We will be back!

Loved our time on the sunset cocktail cruise. They take you out to where the really, really, really big boats are. I would suggest sitting up front as close as possible so you can make sure you have first dibs at the drinks. Bathroom on board but you have to walk down some very narrow and steep steps to get to it. Cruise from start to finish (waiting in line to disembarking) is about 2 hours. Definitely worth it! Very reasonable prices for an activity like this in such a touristy place.

Business response:

Thank you for the great review! We're so glad you enjoyed the sunset cocktail cruise and the views of the big boats. We are happy to hear you found the experience a good value. Hope to have you back on board soon! Warmly, Newport Classic Cruises

Friendly, knowledgeable and courteous crew provided a wonderful private tour on "Full Moon" for the 15 participants in my Vistage Worldwide CEO leadership retreat. Our 90 minute ride was relaxing, and set the tone for the productive and enjoyable learning experience that followed.

Business response:

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that Captain Marc and Kenny on Full Moon helped create such a positive and relaxing start to your leadership retreat. It’s always our goal to provide a memorable experience, and we're glad it set the tone for your productive and enjoyable event. We hope to welcome you and your team aboard again in the future!
