Overpriced and greedy. Spent over $500 for tests, shots, etc. on a stray kitten. When I returned for the booster shot on one of them (3 weeks later), was charged another exam fee. Medication is not optional...pricey and told it is imperative because they already opened the box. Same holds true for another of my pets who came in for just annual shot 2 weeks after she had a complete exam for her eye. Any recommendations for a good, reasonably priced vet in Rock Hill for my 3 pets?

We went in to board our dogs. Have used them multiple times before, but they have gotten to the point where they will screw you over on the fees and charges and made up "requirements" to board your dog. They required a full examination and on top of the normal bordatello and rabies and DHLPP, they wanted additional big bucks for flu vaccination and a follow up shot. I had an awful experience this morning with the vet at Newport. Having had pets for twenty years, I am used to taking them to the vet. However, my cat Lily, was having a panic attack within her carrier, she was running around in it in some frantic movements, screaming and crying, panting and shaking. This is where they test the value of your pet to the healthcare they offer. My dog had dirherra and was throwing up. By the time they ran their recommended tests, I left with $193 bill. $44 Office visit, $93 for tests, and $55 for meds. One of the meds, Famotidine, is the ingrediant found in Zantac. You can buy Zantac at your local Pharmacy for 23 cents each. Newport billed me. $2.33 each. Had an emergency this morning. My cat started to deliver kittens and was having distress. The kittens had gotten their umbilical cords tangled around the mother's tail and she could not get them apart and was starting to panic. I rushed her to Newport Veterinary Hospital and they would not even look at her. They said they were not equipped to handle this situation (WHAT???). My boyfriend and I went to this place on a recommendation from a coworker. It was basically a waste of money. We adopted to kittens from an animal shelter in Florence and took them here for their initial visit. And to treat a cough one kitten had. We brought fecal samples to test for worms (tested negative) and the vet said that they needed antidiarrhea medicine.
