I never send out reviews. But here I go because I would not want this happen to your loved ones!!!. First when my grandma was here. It was fine. My grandma was able to care for herself! Now my grandpa had to go here for a broken hip and needed to be cared for! It was the worse experience ever for him. First he would tell cna and nurses he would need to use the bathroom right in front of us they would refuse to take him tell him no. I would even say something and they said they were sick of his false alarms! It doesn't matter... read more

I am absolutely appalled in how this facility is ran and truly believe that it needs an investigation. If I could give zero stars I would, and will never ever recommend this place for loves ones to go following surgery. They do not provide the care that is needed, and only look at patients as "money." I would not wish this type of care on anyones loved ones!!

I would give this facility 0 stars if I could. I strongly recommend to anyone looking for post acute care to NOT put your family member in this facility. We had a family member here recently who was neglected and emotionally abused right in front of our family. He would push his call button for assistance to use the restroom, the staff members would tell him "no", that they are sick of his "false alarms". We had another staff member tell him directly to his face "you stink". They directly expressed their aggravation that ou... read more

I value online reviews, but I always take negative reviews with a grain of salt. All businesses are going to have an off day or a difficult customer, so when I read the reviews for Oak River Rehab, I thought this place seems decent. But let me tell you, believe the negative reviews, and find somewhere else for your loved one. After complications from a surgery, my 89 year old grandfather found himself in need of a rehab facility. He had previously spent time at another facility that he liked, but they didn't have a bed... read more

I don't know where to start. My father-in-law stayed here and it was basically a nightmare. There was no staffing, it was almost impossible to find a CNA. My father-in-law was there for more than four weeks and we were never told what was happening with his care or discharge. We had to track ppl down to get basic supplies, the bed didn't work properly the shower was either supper hot or too cold. It is shocking that places like this continue to operate with impunity. Never again, that's all I can say.

I had a family member stay here for a short time and it was very disappointing. Beds and equipment didn't work right. They seemed understaffed and they were constantly running out of supplies. The staff that they did have were often rude. We had no idea what was going on, there was no communication whatsoever. We certainly will not be returning.

My stepmother called to get information regarding my 88-year-old father, who suffers from Alzheimer's. The Admissions Director was rude right from the start. They had an appointment yesterday. The director did not like the fact that my father was ambulatory and not in a wheelchair. Also he is on two medications, one for seizures (which he doesn't need) and one for hallucinations (which she said is for psychotic episodes) - which his doctor claims is not. They denied my father services. Evidently their feeling is that h... read more

There must be better places! My 93 year old father, in rehab for a broken hip, was over sedated. Initially, he was making progress. Then his dementia started acting up. They put him on three psychotropic drugs to the point he couldn't even remember how to bring a spoon to his mouth. Though they observed his steep decline from one week to the next to the point he could no longer do PT, they wanted to discharge him ! Research on my part prompted daily requests to decrease these meds one by one; he improved enough to make some... read more

AWFUL! This place should be closed. We just moved my dad to Mercy because his body was going into starvation and an extreme state of dehydration. He was there for 10 days and his cpap was never "cleared" so it was never put on him at night. I can't say enough negative things about the medical care. Thank god for great advice to move him out. The ER doctor was shocked at the state of his health when he came into the ER this morning. I am appalled. If I could say negative stars I would. This is such a huge let down. I complete... read more

Business response:

I am very sorry to hear that you were not pleased with your Father's stay with us. We do our best to make each patient's stay the best it can be. I will not address any of your Father's specific health issues here for privacy reasons but would be happy to go over any of your concerns with you over the phone or in person. Our Medical Director Dr. Dinesh Mantri has no ownership interest in the facility and no incentive to keep patients here any longer than is medically necessary for them to make the best recovery possible.
